In performance

The only thing I enjoy more than performing is collaborating on a performance. With Laura Williamson and Annabel Wilson, I do ‘At the drop of a hat’ poem shows, where the poems we say are all chosen according to words put into a hat by the audience. We promise to use every word. We’ve performed at Verb Wellington’s Litcrawl, at WORD Christchurch, at some of our favourite bars and bike shops in Otago. We also did an online show in April 2020 and you can watch it all here.

At the 2016 TEDx Queenstown, I crafted a piece about how it is to connect and then a crowdsourced response text completed on the same day. You can watch it here:

My freedom camping farce It’s Your Shit was performed most recently at the 2019 UNESCO Short Play Festival in Dunedin. I’ve also written a dark comedy about post natal depression, which premiered in Wanaka and toured around Central Otago. I am currently developing a play script for the 2021 Festival of Colour.

Since 2017, I’ve been writing Christmas pantomimes for the Wanaka Pantomimers. Working with director Gilly Pugh and casts of professional and local actors, we’ve created a modern take – the antimine – on Christmas favourites Cindy and the Vilanelles, Jac (who is resilient) and the Beansprouts and Sno Whyte and the Seven.
